I think that eagle has a walleye in its talons, not a perch.

Saw three Bald Eagles at Heines point a few weeks ago. Two seemed to be juveniles, a large one just set on a tree near the playground.

I have some problems with this photo. I have fished around the Potomac for years, and I have seen lots of these guys out there, and they are always SNATCHING game fish -- which is illegal -- and they totally have no licenses anyway. Most of the fish they take are undersize anyway. I really wish the Park Police would crack down -- they are degrading the fishing for the rest of us. I have tried to talk to them and explain the fly fishing ethos, but they just sit there acting dumb and nodding their bald heads. I think its irresponsible of the Washington Post to glorify their unsportsmanlike behavior.
