Hey yall,

I'm new to DC from North Carolina and looking for some convenient fly fishing. I am living in Brookmont, in walking distance to Lock 6 on the canal. I'd love some advice (not secrets) on what flies you all are using, and some direction on location. Anything would be great.

i am not familiar with exact location of Brookmont or Canal 6.

I can recommend Turkey Run Park on the Potomac ( a 1/4 mile hike down a moderate grade to access river from parking lot)

and the walkable stretch of the Potomac upstream from Haines Point...

...also..... the TIDAL BASIN

...that should get you started
