I was just told I'm going there for 3 days next week and will have open wednesday ad thursday night.  Anyone know of any fishing going on there during this time of the year?  My guess is that it would be similar to here but that a little hotter.   It does not seem that close for me to do any fishing on the coast but there seems to be ponds around and it does not look that far from Lake Murray. I plan on fishing in the evening after 5 or 6PM.  I will be doing some research over the weekend about this but I figure it never hurts to ask the crew first.

Thanks

Lake Murray isn't that far away and is a great fishery.  Access is pretty open in most areas.  I've never fly fished it but the top water bite is usually good this time of year when bass fishing from the many parks and boat landings.  The broad river also runs thru the city and us also supposed to be a good fishery.   It has lots of rocks similar to the shannondoa. As far as the weather it really isn't much different than here.

Hey Tim,

Thanks for the great info.  Do you know of any local guides as I can not find ANY fly fishing guides there.  I'm hopeing to fish a couple hours in the evening at either location and am open to suggestions.

Thanks,

I did finally find one guy so hopefully I will be able to work it out.

Unfortunately I don't. I grew up fishing mostly south of the area but haven't been back in a long time. Most of the guides I knew are no longer around.

Not a problem.  I already decided to forgo the guide for this trip and try it out on my own.  I just extended my trip for another night so I can have up to three nights out on the water depending on the weather and how hot it gets.   Of what I hear, its basically stripers and small mouth.  I will keep you informed on how it goes.
