I have to second everything you wrote except I might add that "inspiring" and "incredible" are understatements to some of things I heard and saw this weekend as a volunteer stream monitor. As an example, I saw a disabled vet with one arm tie on a two-fly rig (with no assistance) and then proceed to fish what I thought was the most technical part of the Rose River like he was shooting fish in a barrel. This part of the river had been skunking some of the better fishermen for four or five hours.
Project Healing Waters is truly a worthy cause and I enjoyed every moment of a long Sunday on the Rose River even with an afternoon rain shower that tried to put a damper on things. I encourage everyone to check out the link Jim posted below.
