Anyone interested in occassionally getting together over the winter to tye flies.  I live in Ashburn and would be glad to host.  I am currently working on tying Enrico Puglise style flys.  I usually try and learn a few new pattern over the winter.

Terry,

I think that is a great idea.  I look forward to the beer ties each month but I find myself drinking, eating and talking more than tying there... Not that theres anything wrong with that!   I've been tying at home allot recently but a change of pace would be nice.  My only concern is finding a way over to Ashburn as I am Metro bound coming from Merrifield but I would find a way.  I have been tying more nymphs and terrestials along with my usual clousers but I am open to other suggestions or ideas.

Let me know when your thinking about.

On the subject of tying, any pattern requests for next week's beer tie learner's table?

hares ear nymph?  Or is that the possessive hare's ear nymph?  Either way, it's a lagomorph.  Watership Down.

Hey Rob,

I'm not sure about the learners table, but would you mind going over your Bass foam bug again with me.  I have all the materials (circular window foam, colorful flat foam and rubber legs.  Not sure what size hooks you suggest?) but something does not seem right when I've been tying them.
