4MR 1/3/13 Report

Fished the peak of high tide and some outgoing today at 4MR.  About a dozen anglers out, and it was pretty slow out there.  

Saw some spin caster catch a huge carp under the bridge near the toyota dealership.  Lot of activity over there when I left (4:00pm).  I'm guessing carp rising?

I did manage to hook into a nice bluegill on a size 12 wooly bugger    and small largemouth bass on a mini super clouser I tied though!

Very cool.  I haven't been out there in a few weeks now, but I love catching bluegill in there.  I got a few crappie the last trip out there on a bucktail, and I saw RSW hook into something pretty good.  

I need to get motivated to go out....getting kind of lazy this time of year.

I stopped by 4MR near the bridges Saturday morning for about an hour and a half from 7:00 - 8:30 in the morning.  There was a lot of activity on the surface when I arrived (consensus of this groups seems to be that they were carp), there were also a few carp visible along the shore, but they weren't interested in me.  I saw a very small bass up along the shore as well, but I spooked him before I could cast that direction.  I didn't catch anything, but it was a beautiful morning.
