A bit off topic, but thought a few might enjoy this.  Was up at my camp in Maine last weekend and the lake was frozen, so I made a few holes in the ice and set up a trap and a jig.  Trap had a whole shiner swimming around, which got no attention, but I switched the jig halfway through to a chunk of shiner meat (sorry shiner) and pulled out this 12 inch brookie.

Really surprised when it started shooting eggs everywhere as soon as it hit the ice.  Is this just a female that didn't get a chance to spawn?  Whole lake was frozen, and its way past spawning season.
