Fly tying fun story

My mom neither had no idea nor never saw my fly box. One day my mom visited us, I was tying and left the fly box open, my mom walked in and saw the fly box, said "oh..they are so lovely! Are they girl's hair accessories?" SMH!

 

I am sure you have some fun stories about fly stuffs?

My girlfriend likes to poke fun at me and loves how "guys get away with doing arts and crafts by calling it tying flies."

When I got into fly tying (high school), the only place I had to set up my vise was atop a spare dresser in my large-ish closet, previously used to store toys. My parents like to tell people I spent a lot of time 'in the closet' when I was younger.

I got them back: the first squirrel tail I bought, I placed so that it was sticking out the cheese drawer in their fridge. Hilarity ensued.
