Even though the Dan is in the Bahamas chasing bonefish, there will be a Beer Tie next Monday at Ri-Ra Irish Pub in Clarendon, from 7pm to 9pm.

We will have, as always, a beginner table with all the tools and materials you need to tie your first (or just your latest) fly. I'll post more info in this thread about who is teaching and what they'll be tying once it's nailed down.

There will be an Iron Vise challenge once again, for the creative and competitive tyers among us.

If you have anything you want to share or donate, or any other questions, shoot me an email.

See you there!

And for the beginners' table, Rob Snowhite will be teaching wooly buggers -- a versatile fly that should be in everyone's arsenal.

One last reminder: Beer Tie will be tomorrow evening (Monday), from 7 to 9 pm at Ri-Ra Irish Pub in Clarendon. We will have Rob Snowhite on the beginner table, teaching Wooly Buggers, an Iron Vise challenge, more free fishing magazines from Namfos, and a bunch of pheasant tail feathers donated by Mike Flint.

I'd Like to second that.  I know the turn out for this one was on the light side but I did enjoy it and I appreciate the effort from everyone.

Thanks to everyone who showed up. 'Light turn out' perhaps -- or maybe just the hardest core Beer Tyers getting their thread on.

Thanks to Rob Snowhite for teaching every variation of purple wooly bugger at the beginners' table, thanks to Mark for more magazines, and thanks again to Mike for the pheasant tails.

Congrats to Jason M. for winning the Iron Vise with a 'Zoo Cougar'. The secret ingredient this time was gold-dyed mallard flank feather. I just this evening figured out how to get pictures from my phone to my computer without using data rates; the winning fly is in the center, along with the first and second runners up. Fine flies all of them.

Next month's Beer Tie is December 10th -- also a Monday, also from 7 to 9pm, also at Ri-Ra Irish Pub. See you then.
