A few posts have been on the board in the past year or so discussing the property rights/fishing access issue on the Jackson River. This whole thing is a mess.

It is odd that they are still honoring king's grants after we declared independence from England a long, long, long time ago. 

It seems as if the State of Virginia should step in and take the river bottom as state property, stop charging the people for the taxes on the riverbed, and take care of this issue.  The Jackson is a real treasure and it should be managed as such and open for people to fish and use in the proper manner.
