Lake Needwood Report

Biked to Lake Needwood hoping to hook into some bass.  It was really quiet, zero bites for the day.  I'm assuming fish were in deeper water, somewhere in the middle perhaps...Anyone have luck or any tips to share regarding fishing Lake Needwood?

I've fished this pond adjacent to Lake Needwood, http://goo.gl/maps/leRdx,  only a couple of times and caught some small bass and bluegills, but it was pretty tough with lousy clearance for back casts, muddy banks and very weedy in the summer.  Haven't tried it, but Fall and Spring might be better.

I live next to needwood and never realized that little pond existed. I will look to check it out as well. I was also thinking of trying the smaller part of the lake on the other side of needwood road. There seems to be a couple of clearings where to cast and it may be protecting from the wind.

I ran into another person at needwood over the weekend who told me of his 9 year old son caught a 18-20 inch bass. He showed me the photograph as well. They threw it back so I know there is at least on big one out there.
