I'm going to Costa Rica in July and will spend time on the caribbean around punta uva/cahuita and the pacific at golfo de papagayo.  i will bring my 8wt and will set out on my own when i can to catch whatever i can. as this not primarily a fishing trip i won't be using any guides.  if anyone has had luck with flats or surf fishing there or similar environments, i'd appreciate any tips.  i think i'll see sandy flats in the bays and big surf on the pacific and coral reef/small surf in the caribbean.
