squid flies

After watching a video of a popsicle fly moving through the water (Rob's earlier post), I threw some materials together with spun marabou into a squid fly.  Barbell eyes are a bit more hidden than I'd like them to be, but in water they should more visible.  And might have been doing it wrong, but spinning the marabou was really difficult.

Anyone fish squids for stripers around here?

Whenever working with marabou, spit is your best friend -- that or a glass of water.  Wetting the fibers makes it much more manageable.
