Regarding "turning pages," about the only thing I can think of is that
on a smart device, you still "swipe from right to left to turn pages
in a lot of the comic reader apps. So it's still the same sort of
"turning page" motion. That has some connective tissue with the print
side of the coin; I imagine that the word "synergy" or the like being
bandied about.
The worse offense of this logo to me is that it's boring. It just
sort of sits there. It doesn't jump out at me. Again, I may be the
outlier but I thought the Whirl was bright and drew your eyes to it.
This looks like the logo of a small scale systems integrator or
something.
