Installing Squid Transparent Proxy and Content Filter

I am new to linux and I want to install the  squid and a content filter on ubuntu server in our office. we are using SLT ADSL Internet connection and there are about 50 computers using Internet facility via LAN from that ADSL connection

I googled internet for this purpose and i found lot of articles. But i am little confused because all the article are different from each other.

Can you give me step by step instruction to install Squid Transparent Proxy and Content Filter (for block adults sites) on Ubuntu. Is there any good and reliable GUI tools for do configurations and monitor user activities.

What are the  hardware requirements for do this

use something like smoothwall or ipcop much better implementations if
you get confused by documentation, this is the best solution.
