TaintDroid 4.3, Nexus 4, Cannot enter the system

Dear all,

I build the TaintDroid 4.3 following "Build Instructions for Android 4.3".

The emulator does work. But after building and flushing TaintDroid 4.3 to Nexus 4, the phone stays on the android logo, cannot enter the system.

I checked the log with "adb logcat".

The main erros are:

I/rmt_storage(  177): No EBR found

I/rmt_storage(  177): Error (-1) parsing MBR partitions

E/mm-camera(  209): qcamsvr_load_gesture_lib Error opening gesture library

E/mm-camera(  209): Cannot init Gesture library

E/Diag_Lib(  174):  Diag_LSM_Init: Failed to open handle to diag driver, error = 13

E/Diag_Lib(  174): actp_diag_init: diag init failed

E/Diag_Lib(  174):  Diag_LSM_Init: Failed to open handle to diag driver, error = 13

E/qcom_sensors_hal(  527): hal_process_single_sensor_info_resp: Error: 1 

E/qcom_sensors_hal(  527): _hal_sensors_get_sensors_list: Error: No sensors found: Er: 1

F/libc    (  527): Fatal signal 11 (SIGSEGV) at 0x00000000 (code=1), thread 527 (system_server)

I have attached the full log from adb.

Could anyone give some suggestions? Thanks very much.

Hi Wen,

It looks like you are missing some hardware support files in your build. They can be found at

https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/drivers#makojwr66y.

FYI, I built mine on top Taintdroid 4.3 and it is running fine on my Nexus 4.

Thanks for your reply. Actually, I did follow TaintDroid's instructions to execute following commands, and make the whole codebase:

% wget https://dl.google.com/dl/android/aosp/lge-mako-jwr66y-a85ca75e.tgz

% tar -zxvf lge-mako-jwr66y-a85ca75e.tgz

% ./extract-lge-mako.sh # (view the license and then type "I ACCEPT")

% wget https://dl.google.com/dl/android/aosp/qcom-mako-jwr66y-a5becaf1.tgz

% tar -zxvf qcom-mako-jwr66y-a5becaf1.tgz 

% ./extract-qcom-mako.sh # (view the license and then type "I ACCEPT")

% wget https://dl.google.com/dl/android/aosp/broadcom-mako-jwr66y-137ef66d.tgz

% tar -zxvf broadcom-mako-jwr66y-137ef66d.tgz

% ./extract-broadcom-mako.sh # (view the license and then type "I ACCEPT")

After that, I unlock the bootloader, and flush the phone with:

% fastboot flash boot boot.img

% fastboot flash system system.img

% fastboot flash userdata userdata.img

I am not sure whether there are any steps I have missed.

Did you make complete build after you integrate those hardware changes and what is your command for building the image.

Yes, I did, "make clean" and "make -j4".

BTW, is your rom still available? Maybe I can try to flush your rom to check whether there is something wrong with my building.

I forgot to mention that I also flush the radio image found in Nexus 4.3 factory image

Just unpack and flash radio-mako-m9615a-cefwmazm-2.0.1700.84.img.

Thanks very much, I have tried your ROM.

Still got the same errors :(

Maybe something wrong with my phone? I mean the hardware.. 

I tried rollback it to the official 4.3 ROM, it also sucks at the "X" log after booting.

Currently, the phone can only booted one CM ROM..  Really weird

This is sad.:(  I did flash mine on a stock Nexus 4.

Hi, Tian, it finally works!

The point is to flush the baseband in Android 4.3 does not work, should downgrade the baseband to 2.0.1700.48 (which is extracted from Android 4.2.2).

I basically followed this link:

1. Flush Official Android 4.3 (flush all)

fastboot flash bootloader bootloader-mako-makoz20i.img

fastboot reboot-bootloader

sleep 5

fastboot flash radio radio-mako-m9615a-cefwmazm-2.0.1700.84.img

fastboot reboot-bootloader

sleep 5

fastboot -w update image-occam-jwr66y.zip

2. Flush radio-mako-m9615a-cefwmazm-2.0.1700.48.img

fastboot flash radio radio-mako-m9615a-cefwmazm-2.0.1700.48.img

2. Flush TaintDroid roms

fastboot flash boot boot.img

fastboot flash system system.img

fastboot flash userdata userdata.img
