HEBOCON is comming up on July 8th.

HEBOCON is a battle for derpy robots. The derpier the better. There are no
restrictions on who can enter or how little thought and effort is put in to
your entry.

Families are encouraged to participate.

The third annual Hebocon features a maritime theme event as well as the usual
battle arena, robot boat battles will be fought in a watery abyss fraught with
peril. So head out to your favorite thrift store, pool store, or naval
shipyard and get all the bits and bobs you need to make the derpiest roboboat
ever.

(this means you can either make a traditional sumo style land bot, or a sumo
style boat, or both, or see how your land bot fares in the water arena, your
choice)

Come recreate the glorious fail that is HEBOCON. Build a robot with as little
technology, skill, or forethought as possible, and battle it against other

BOT REGISTRATION AND MORE INFO: Registration for your robot opens at 13:15.
and runs until 14:15.
Your robot will need to be in the competition area at the time you put it's
name on the registration list.
This will be a double elimination tournament.


Quick Details

Arena is 50cm x 100cm

- Robots must fit within their half of arena (50cm x 50cm) at start of match
Matches are 1 minute in length
- Competition is Sumo-bot style, therefore the goal is for your robot to be
moving in the arena while your opponent is not.
- There are some restrictions on robots in size, weight, and technological
candor.
- Technological restrictions to be determined by judges on case by case basis
during sign in for any "technology" used as method of robots performance in
match.
- Robots should be as simple as possible, staying away from direct radio
control or on board hardware that could be interpreted as "technologically
advanced"
- Don't bring your 60lb pet rock
- Don't bring anything larger than your arena profile
- Robots cannot have features specifically intended for causing irreversible
damage to opponent robot.
- Winning bots are awarded 10 points per match
- Robots may be deducted points for any "technology" implemented
- Points may be added by popular opinion at end of competition for unique or
awesome robots and features

There will be 3 awards by points, 1 special mention awarded by judges, and an
award for audience favorite. Robot with the most points at the end of the
competition wins
