Error Log showing AuthenticationModule failures

I feel like this is some type of attempt to get authenticated. My
error log is FILLED with these logs:

ERROR

Could not decrypt the authentication cookie.

System.ArgumentException: Invalid value for 'encryptedTicket'
parameter. at System.Web.Security.FormsAuthentication.Decrypt(String

Subtext.Framework.Web.HttpModules.AuthenticationModule.GetFormsAuthenticationTicket(HttpCookie
authCookie)

That happens to me too

I've dismissed it as being someone trying to break into the admin.... but never dove deeper int the problem.
