Hi,

I want to import my divelogs from my Scubapro Aladin Sport to my Windows 10 PC. Can anyone recommend a good (and cheap) infrared adapter (USB)?
The original from Scubapro/Uwatev is to expensive. :-(

Thank you for your help!

When posting questions you can help us answer you more quickly if you make sure you include some basic information:
  • Which version are you using (hint: look at the About screen)?
  • Which OS are you running?
  • (if applicable) which dive computer are you using?
Feel free to delete this text when posting your question.

The IrDA communications protocol is very old and USB dongles are scarce in shop. I suggest you do an Internet search for "Moschip MCS7780" or "MCS7780 USB dongle" to see if there is a supplier available from the Internet. The Moschip MCS7780 was the microchip used by Uwatec in their infra-red dongle. If you cannot find on the Internet, I suspect your only option would be to buy one from Scubapro. Read the Subsurface user manual with respect to the use of IrDA communication with Uwatec/Scubapro dive computers.

Kind regards,

willem

I have been using the GEARMO IrDa adapter (https://www.gearmo.com/product-category/infrared/) on my computers. They all are Linux MINT (or Ubuntu) and this adapter works flawlessly with my Galileo Luna. I assume it would also work with Windows but I can't test it.
