BBC NI & Arts Council Young Musicians' Platform Award
The Arts Council has announced the five talented young musicians from Northern Ireland who have been awarded the Young Musicians' Platform Award by the Arts Council and BBC Northern Ireland.

The biennial funding awards showcase and support the development of young musicians from the region by providing individual funding awards of £5,000. This funding enables the recipients to spend a sizeable amount of time learning from a master musician, mentor, teacher or composer, either in Northern Ireland or abroad.

Voluntary Arts is running its annual survey of your experiences in the creative sector. Last year 1,000 people responded in its first large-scale survey to gauge the scale, mood, ambitions and needs of the participatory arts sector. This research was extremely insightful and played a vital role in helping evidence the size and diversity of the sector, as well as providing a clearer picture of how best to support creative groups. Voluntary Arts asks you to take 6 minutes to fill in the 2018 survey and share it with your own network to help ensure they have a diverse range of views again this year. The deadline is 11th December and each respondent can enter a draw to win a Google Home Mini smart speaker!
