Combat bullying and harassment in the workplace

The BFI and BAFTA have launched Action List, a resource which outlines actions employers in TV and film can take to prevent and tackle bullying, harassment and racism in the workplace. The list contains recommendations, including taking ScreenSkills’ tackling bullying and harassment at work online learning module. Read more

New mentoring programme for deaf or disabled talent

Disabled and deaf screen professionals can apply until 12 April for ENGAGE, a six-month mentoring programme. The free programme - supported by  ScreenSkills using National Lottery funds awarded by the BFI - aims to help successful participants build networks and reflect on and develop their careers.

Apply now for script editing training in the North West

Trainee script editors living in Greater Manchester and the North West can apply until 9 April for Flip the Script. The 12-week programme offers paid placements to 12 participants to help them go forward and apply for positions as researchers, script editors, assistant story editors and dramaturgs in the future.

New animation competition for under-represented talent

Submission are open now for The Secret Story Draw - a new initiative dedicated to placing illustrators and animators from Black, Asian and minority ethnic backgrounds into some of the country’s best animation studios via paid internships. Find out more about the competition and share it with your network.

  • It’s up to all of us to challenge unconscious bias to promote greater diversity and inclusion in the screen industries. You can now take our free online training to learn what unconscious bias is, how it might manifest itself at work and how to recognise and challenge assumptions.
  • Educators were offered insight on how to best support students to start successful careers in screen during the inaugural ScreenSkills Select Congress. Read more
