Fill out the ScreenSkills Employer Survey

The ScreenSkills Employer Survey is now live. If you or your organisation is an employer in the UK screen industries we urge you to please complete it by 25 January.

The survey is part of ScreenSkills’ new Skills Forecasting Service which is designed to build a strong evidence base for investment in skills and training. It follows the publication of the findings of the first quarterly Barometer last month.

New producer mentorship scheme launched

Five alumni from the New Producer programme, funded by ScreenSkills in 2016-18, have taken up the chance to be mentored by an experienced producer over a year-long period.

Register your interest now for ScreenSkills’ free half-day conference, Diversity in Action, that will be held on 11 March in London. The event is designed to provide practical information and hands-on workshops to improve diversity and inclusion in television and film. Read more

New Skills Passport courses and bursaries

Skills Passport is an online tool designed to help identify great short courses which equip professionals with industry-standard skills. We have recently added new training opportunities to our course directory and offer bursaries of up to £1,000 to help freelancers undertake training.

Thanks to our BAFTA nominees

 After winning at the 76th Golden Globe Awards, The Favourite has received 12 BAFTA nominations. A host of other films that contributed to the ScreenSkills Film Skills Fund were shortlisted for awards as well, including Mary Poppins Returns and Mission Impossible - Fallout (both pictured).

  • Congratulations to the Inside Pictures Class of 2018, who graduated yesterday from the intensive film business training and leadership skills development programme. Recruitment for the 2019 edition of the scheme, opens on 7 February on the Inside Pictures website.
  • Applications are now open for Runner Ready, a free film and TV training course that is designed to enable people from underrepresented groups to enter the industry. Read more
