Is the London Screenwriters’ Festival worth the money?

I get asked all the time.

And is it worth the time? It’s three days after all. Then there are food and drink costs. For some, accommodation and travel needs to be factored in too. Maybe even childcare.

I get it, it’s a commitment.

And I don’t take that commitment lightly. In fact, I often lie in bed going over ways I can make the festival deliver on our promise and commitment even more.

In the end, only you can answer this question for yourself.

What I can tell you from my perspective is that myself and my team spend six months inviting, building, crafting, rebuilding, innovating… the most fucking awesome screenwriting event on the planet.

And I mean that. Nothing comes close to the value, learning and experience we offer in the compressed three days (and the following access to hundreds of our sessions from past festivals online in our network).

There’s a reason 80% of our delegates return more than once. Yes, there’s much to experience at LondonSWF. Insights. Hard-won lessons. Pitching. Meeting and making new friends. And yes we all get to talk about story and screenwriting and immerse ourselves for three days.

But it’s the shot in the arm. The rocket fuel to the creative soul. The re-commitment to the path. This is why so many delegates return.

▪ It’s about your short-term redrafts.
▪ Your medium-term commitment to write that new idea.
▪ Your long-term career.
▪ Your lifelong commitment to serve YOUR passions and not sell your time to others.
It’s about your short-term redrafts.
Your medium-term commitment to write that new idea.
Your long-term career.
Your lifelong commitment to serve YOUR passions and not sell your time to others.

It’s hard being a creative.

Most people can’t fathom how that works as a business. Add to that their belief that if you can write a sentence, you can write a script. ‘Surely, it’s that easy?’ We know it’s not. We know what it takes when we dig deep and face that blank screen.

And yet we return, because we have no choice. It’s our calling.

So… Join me and the team and experience the creative rollercoaster of the London Screenwriters’ Festival in our TENTH year!

It will be FUCKING EPIC!

You will be inspired. You will learn loads. You will create new and powerful relationships. And you WILL recommit to the challenge, with vigour and passion.

In short, you will never want it to end nor leave by Sunday night.

100 sessions, 150 speakers… over 1,000 present. It’s a gathering, not a conference.

Until Sunday, you can still sign up and spread the cost over three months by going here… http://www.londonscreenwritersfestival.com/tickets

See you there. It will be extraordinary. Promise.
