Share Your Skills to Support Afghanistan’s First All-Female TV Station Zan, meaning ‘women’ in Arabic, is the first TV station in Afghanistan to be made for and run entirely by women. The channel employs 50 women to create its daily mix of news, politics and lifestyle shows. In a country still recovering from Taliban rule, Zan’s team are transforming attitudes – and the ratings are soaring. Now, experienced UK documentary director, Deborah Lovett is calling on fellow TV professionals to support these pioneering women by taking part in one-off Skype sessions. On Our Radar... Last night's BAFTA Film Awards may have included notable absences of female filmmaking talent in some of the key craft categories, but plenty of women graced the stage to pick up gongs and delivered the most memorable speeches of the night. An especially mighty cheer rang out when The Favourite’s production designers Fiona Crombie and Alice Felton dedicated their award to “every woman and working mother who keeps it together and makes it happen.” Brava to that!
