Aaaaaand we're back. Happy New Year folks, hope you all enjoyed the holidays.
Overall I actually took it pretty easy this Christmas. Didn't go out too much, spent a bit of time on some writing, but mainly watched whatever was on telly, rewatching films that happened to be on that I hadn't seen in years, or old TV shows... man, rewatching old episodes of the Fast Show was such a treat! Also, good family time, especially with a cousin's wedding on New Years Eve. Check out the wedding cake!

As I was saying, haven't been up to much in the last while, tightened up an outline and have started writing my next OGN. It's a follow-up of sorts to SAVAGE TOWN. Not a direct sequel, but set in the same 'world' as in it's another Irish crime story, set for release later this year. I'm not drawing it, but I am providing the cover. Spent the last few days nailing down the cover and getting it ready for solicitation. More on that below.
As of today I'm getting started back on the secret project I had to put aside for Return Or Wolverine. Once that's wrapped I'll be back on Injection. I can't say anymore about it, I'm sure ye can figure out which publisher it's for though. More on it when I can say.

Thanks to those who ordered commissions from my alert last week, they sold out pretty quick. I'd like to say I'll do more but it really depends on my workload and well... interest. I'm not looking to become a 'commission artist' anytime soon, I always want to be concentrating on work that tells stories. Still though, nice to know there's enough demand for me to line up some fun commissions so fast and I'm happy to offer them here exclusively to newsletter subscribers. If the orders weren't strong, then I'd have made a public announcement online but I'd prefer those of you who are actively more interested in my work get first dibs on stuff like this.

I decided to start streaming on Twitch again as I illustrate the commissions. You can watch me pencil and ink the first one (a Vivek Headland piece) from beginning to end. I did another one yesterday if you want to check that out.

The Big Bang, an excellent retailer in Dublin (and my local) announced their Top 100 graphic Novel sales of 2018. Injection was in the top 100, but both DEADPOOL VS OLD MAN LOGAN and SAVAGE TOWN made it to the top 10! The former at number 8 and the latter at number 4. It may seem silly, but I was both surprised and delighted to see that Savage Town, my weird little Irish crime book did so well over the year.
Of course, it's just one shop, but it's great to see tha Irish readers have been suporting the book. DPvOML doing so well was also great, as it's the first book I wrote for another artist that was a proper paid gig. Nice way to start the year.

I see Marvel are doing a second print of DEAD MAN LOGAN #1, with a black and white variant of my cover. If you missed out on #1, here's a chance to get on board from the start!

A joint peek/process piece this week. A 'peek' because it's the cover for my next graphic novel. The solicit needs to be in at the end of this week so I've been working on the info, the cover, and the title design.
Here's some photos of the piece and a video of me adding stars in white ink. I'm going to avoid the finished piece if that's okay, as the book won't be out until later in the year (but you can get a good look at it if you look close enough at the video!). I've since coloured and finished the design for the book... can't wait to show it off. Not sure when it'll be announced yet, will have to check with Image.
