Youth Music provision in Northern Ireland
image.

The Arts Council is developing joint plans for the future of music making by people under the age of 26 in Northern Ireland, with the Education Authority, Higher and Further education, the voluntary sector and the arts sector.

As part of this process we have commissioned an audit to find out what is going on, where it's happening, who's doing it and who is taking part. We need accurate, up-to-date evidence so we can spot the gaps that need to be filled.

Please help to secure the best future of Youth Music in Northern Ireland by completing this survey. It asks for details of what you did in 2018/19 and for your opinions about the best way to increase access, develop talent and increase sustainability. The survey will take around 20 minutes to complete - less if you have a list of your activities to hand.

Deadline for responses is Wednesday 6th November 2019

November Artist of the Month
Leo Boyd

'Into the Void' is part of the Arts Council collection. It is part of a series of works called 'Simulation' which examines (often satirically) our personal and social obsession with computers.

Leo Boyd was born in Hastings and studied Fine Art in Context in Bristol before moving to Ireland in 2000. Having studied and lived in Ireland for 12 years, Leo moved to Belfast in 2011 where he took up screen printing full-time.

Leo views the images he creates as stories, and he uses collage and cut-up techniques to create images of social commentary that reflect the world we live in.
