View this email in your browser With only three weeks to go until the first public performance, we are getting excited for the opening of our next production "The Cemetery Club" by Ivan Menchell, by kind permission of Samuel French. The Cemetery Club is an extremely funny and heartwarming play about learning to come to terms with their loss and move on. A comedy-drama set in New York city, the play features three Jewish widows who meet once a month for tea before going to visit their husbands’ graves. Ida is sweet tempered and ready to begin a new life; Lucille is a feisty embodiment of the girl who just wants to have fun; and Doris is priggish and judgmental, particularly when Sam the butcher enters the scene. He meets the widows while visiting his wife’s grave. Doris and Lucille squash the budding romance between Sam and Ida. They are guilt-stricken when this nearly breaks Ida’s heart. This is Stephen Weatherall's directorial debut for Bart Players, assisted by Gillian Porter.  He has assembled an experienced and talented cast and the show is sure to be an excellent evening of entertainment.
