With just a little over two weeks to go until the first workshops, time is now running short to register for the Spot-Lit Literary Tourism workshops …

If you are a business or cultural group located in Northern Ireland or counties Cavan and Monaghan and would like to develop a literary tourism product or service, the Spot-Lit programme could be for you.

Spot-lit workshops are open to small businesses (including sole traders), social enterprises, community groups and literary associations with a unique idea for the development of literary tourism in their area.

The workshops will cover the following topics:

  • Building successful literary tourism experiences for visitors
  • Designing and developing your literary tourism product or service
  • Knowing and growing your market.

The workshops will be held in Armagh City, Palace Demesne on January 28th, at Tullylagan Country House Hotel, Cookstown Co. Tyrone on January 30th, and at Fermanagh House, Broadmeadow, in Enniskillen, Co. Fermanagh, on February 5th. Each workshop is identical in content, giving you a choice of dates and venues.

Attendance at the workshops is free of charge, although registration is essential at:

ENNISKILLEN - https://www.spot-lit.eu/event/spot-lit-literary-tourism-workshops-armagh-city-copy-copy/

Following on from the workshops, businesses will be invited to participate in a Literary Business Support Programme. The programme will be open to SMEs, social enterprises, community groups and literary associations with a unique idea for the development of literary tourism. This bespoke programme will involve a series of monthly engagement workshops, learning journeys, business advice clinics and individual mentoring supports. The programme will engage with and support a minimum of 5 businesses in each region and will include up to €10,000 in business supports.

In tandem with the Literary Business Support Programme, a new Literary Tourism Model known as ‘Wildethings’ will be developed by Northern Ireland Spot-Lit partner Arts over Borders. Wildethings is based around
Oscar Wilde and is also open to regional responses from businesses.
