Book to hear Nick Laird,
Megan Nolan and Nuala O'Connor

We're looking forward to a busy week at MoLI with a lineup of unmissable online events!

On Wednesday, 7 April, we host the next edition of Ireland's Generation X? featuring Rooney Prize-winning writer and poet Nick Laird. Laird will be in conversation with Professor Barry McCrea about his work and his experience growing up in Northern Ireland as part of Generation X – the group of people born between 1965 and 1985, a generation caught between Baby Boomers and Millennials.

Our Director's Book Club is on Thursday, 8 April. This month, MoLI's Director, Simon O'Connor, will be chatting to author Megan Nolan about her brand new novel, Acts of Desperation – described by Marian Keyes as 'brilliant writing about female desire'. The Director's Book Club is open to all MoLI members. To become a MoLI member, you can sign up here

Then on Friday, 9 April, we are delighted to be hosting the launch of Nuala O'Connor's new book, Nora, based on the life of Nora Barnacle. The book follows Barnacle from her early years in Dublin to a life lived across Europe, as she raises her family and navigates new environments with her husband, James Joyce. To celebrate the launch, Nuala O'Connor will be in conversation with Katherine McSharry, Deputy Director of the National Library of Ireland.
