Hi all,

I’m just announcing that you now have one week to announce your candidacy for a role in the next committee, all positions where people have resigned are open. If you wish to be a candidate, please email this list with the tag [candidate-sr2016] in the subject stating who you are and what position you would like to run for. After a week of nominations, I will open voting for another week.

Good luck!

Thanks,
Tom

I'm a tad curious, what happens if nobody nominates themselves to run for the the Public Interaction position?

I really enjoyed volunteering at SR 2015, and this is something I'd be interested in helping out with. However, I'm not eligible to vote so I expect I'm unable to run. Would anyone be up for sharing the responsibility?

I'm not sure it's happened before, so we don't really know.

Awesome. I'm not sure we have fixed criteria for running for a
position, so I'd say that you're welcome to run -- people can always
vote RON if they don't think that that's valid.

It's worth noting that the Steering Committee roles [1] are intended
to be leadership/guidance roles -- ideally much of the actual work
would be delegated to others in the community, though admittedly this
doesn't tend to happen.

Thanks,
Peter
