Hello Everyone,

After chatting with Rob and Jeremy, we’ve decided that kickstart this year will be on the 18th of October. It will have the same format as last year.

I’d expect that we’ll run them at least at Southampton and Bristol, but any other places should be thought about a little and then discussed.

At each place we need a primary responsible person for the organisation of these events, so if someone from Southampton and Bristol (Jack McCrea maybe??) would
like to volunteer to do that, it’d be great.

The primary requirements at each venue are: a room with a projector that can fit people for a short introductory talk and computer facilities (whether that be wifi or guest logins) such that people
can program the kit.

How very exciting!

Thanks

Sam Phippen

Hi,

I think the date is good,

This is the more important part IMO: is there going to be a Kickstart in
/ around London this year? (Could be Surrey, could be wherever). I think
there really should be, seeing how there's too much pressure on
Southampton in terms of space and equipment, if we keep with the
Quickstart format.

This requires a) a venue and b) someone to volunteer to _drive_ this,
without which it won't happen. Ideally we'd have some solidity by the
1st of August, when some Kickstart data goes out to teachers.

Thanks,

Hi,
Obviously a university would be much better (for pretty much all concerned) but I can potentially organise a Kickstart in Southend if required - Southampton is definitely difficult as the schools spread further.
