New info:

I have re-installed Pythonxy and now it doesn't show up when running the application, neither Spyder. But some other Python packages (from the Pythonxy installation) do work OK.

Please, what's going on here. (I'm running a Windows - 7 x64 machine).

Try running Spyder from source and note all reported versions.
