Hi,

I've just merged the changes discussed on Issue 1027, which were the
last remaining pieces to make Spyder work correctly on non-ascii Windows
accounts. I'll be offline for the next three days so please test them
and try to release the next stable version in between.

Thanks to all devs for their hard work.

Cheers,
Carlos

Hi Carlos,

I'm on vacation this week and, as you may have notice with the sudden increase of my commit rate (!), this is now the only time when I can really work on Spyder. So I've done a lot for improving/stabilizing the v21 branch. Three days left and I'll be offline. So maybe I could make the new release by next Monday.

Cheers
Pierre

Hi Pierre,

I was wondering why your activity was spiking so much this week! Hopefully you can make it for Monday, but it would be great if you could create a wiki page describing the steps you follow to create a new release, so when you're not around the other devs could do it for you.

Cheers,
Carlos

PS. So sad to know you'll be offline again

Offline world is cool. I tried.

I've just edited this page to add the missing steps.
The package generation is completely automatic: source package and
Windows installers (including the .chm documentation). But it requires
to be executed on Windows (that could be changed of course).

If you want to get access to Spyder's page on Python Package Index,
you need to send me your username and I'll grant you access.

I've just released v2.1.10.

Sometimes it's necessary to take off :)

Ok, good to know. I'll open an account there then.

Ok, thanks. It was really needed!

I know but I was just expressing my desire to see you around more often
because you've been offline so much lately :-)
