Reticle for Maya 2016

Hi all.
does the plugin still work on 2016 64bit? Is there any compiled version availiable?

I meant for maya 2016 on windows7 64bit. Just to be clear.

two versions inside:
dx11 for viewport2 and gl if you use old viewport.

Hi piltrafus, the mll file you posted didn't work in maya 2016. it didn't upload the spReticle.mll file by plugin manager. it says : // Error: line 1: The specified module could not be found.
 (spReticle) and gives an error in script editor : // Error: line 1: Unable to dynamically load : C:/Program Files/Autodesk/Maya2016/bin/plug-ins/spReticle.mll
The specified module could not be found.   please help me !

I'm sorry It didn't work. I honestly have no clue about why it doesn't. I got it to compile and it works for me with only a few minor issues. maybe it has some dependencies to other libraries in my system that you don't have. Just guessing, I really have no clue.
You'll have to ask to the developers for a reliable compiled version.

maybe you should intall also glew in your system for it to work?

I followed the instructions from this post to compile it:

it uses the glew libraries to compile the reticle plugin so maybe you need them to in order to run it.

Installed it in a new laptop with win10 and its working. you need :

- the spReticle dll in the maya plugin directory and the two .mel files in the maya scripts directory https://www.dropbox.com/s/71b3kzgvw0nnz3k/spReticleMaya2016.zip?dl=0
- glew32 copied in the windows/system32 and sysWOW64 folders http://glew.sourceforge.net/
- Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015 x64 https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/confirmation.aspx?id=48145

Hi  piltrafus, 

 I downloaded your previous zip file named spReticleMaya2016 that contained two folders in it Release.dx11 and Release.gl and they both only have spReticle.mll in it.
when i copied openGL version in maya 2016 plugin folders. and when in tried to load it in maya preference it gave me this error: 


// Error: line 1: Unable to dynamically load : C:/Program Files/Autodesk/Maya2016/bin/plug-ins/spReticle.mll
The specified module could not be found.
 // 
// Error: line 1: The specified module could not be found.
 (spReticle) // 

And there were no mel files like spReticleLoc.mel, AEspReticleLoctemplate and other files like .cpp, .h as it used to be in previous version of maya 2014 and 2015 
so we just needed to put .mel files in maya script filders and .mll file in maya plugin folder it was as that simple.

I'm sorry i dont know what is glew. how to compile mll with glew and why do we need glew now as i  have never used it before.
can't you please just upload one folder that will have spReticle.mll,  spReticleLoc.mel and AEspReticleLoctemplate  like before so the process could become more easy and clear.
