Hi,

I can't file a license of the icons which are use in spatialite-gui https://www.gaia-gis.it/fossil/spatialite_gui/dir?ci=7af0c09a9a7a4911&name=icons. Are they GPL3 as the spatialite-gui itself or something else? I would like to re-use them in a piece of software that is GPL2 but I am not sure if that's OK.

Hi Jukka,

all the icons used by spatialite_gui come from the FamFamFam Silk
distribution:

http://www.famfamfam.com/lab/icons/silk/

they are released under a CC-BY 2.5 (or 3.0) license, so feel
absolutely free to reuse, rearrange and eventually redistribute
all them in the more liberal way.

-------

BTW the "BY" clause strictly requires giving due credit in some
appropriate form to the original author in any derived work.

OOPS ... I realize only now that spatialite_gui is guilty of
a blatant violation of the licence terms, I'm really sorry :-(

I'll add ASAP a "credits note" into the sources so to fully
restore an uncompromised legality ;-)

bye Sandro

Hi,

But I can't file icons like "geotable" of "geoview", spatial index icon
etc. from the silk icons. At least not today. I thought they could come
from geosilk https://github.com/boundlessgeo/geosilk but not found from
there either.

Hi Jukka,

practically all icons have been renamed so to closely match
their intended role within the GUI.

e.g. the geotable icon corresponds to "list_world.png", the
spatial index corresponds to "lightning.png" and so on

Hi,

Found finally "list_world.png", not from the silk v.013 set but from the
mini set http://www.famfamfam.com/lab/icons/mini/
There is also an icon "list_package.gif" and that could be useful for
GeoPackages. Before finding that I had already glued together "world"
and "package" from the silk set (attached)
