I'm going to demonstrate my cultural differences / ineptitude here; please forgive the antipodean viewpoint.

I understand that money is tight when it comes to acquiring and refurbishing a space, and that deadlines are approaching.

Although it would be short notice, back home the traditional thing would be to have a barbecue / sausage sizzle.

Are there any large home handyman stores in the area nearby we might be able to stand in the front entrance of and sell hot sausages with cold soft drink at a 50% margin for a few hours?

Or a park that will still have throughput on a forecast drizzly day?

I could volunteer for a few hours.

Hey,

Love the idea, there is a bit of an issue with food because of the was around it and the insurance and qualifications needed... We could have another group bbq, we did only just have one but worth a mention? Up to you!

I was worried as much. Where do I look to inform myself around food handling rules here?

Also occurred that VAT could be an issue unless it was a donation and reward for donation thing.

I will continue to mull.

No VAT is fine, it's the safety and what not, I doubt you'll make enough money to warrant the requirements, have a look at HSE.
