Let's try and keep things happening during the weeks. We can't just work on weekends, or we'll never get everything done on time!
There's still demolitions work required on the toilet block as far as I know, and the soakaway channels still need excavating.

Who's keen? (And who's got keys now?) I can do Thursday evevning if anyone else is up for?

I can swap out Wednesday drinks for Thursday work Tom.

Let me know the tooling requirement and I'll be there :)

At the moment I have the only set of keys, so will hand them over to someone on Weds.

I'm going in after work today to finish the concrete cutting for the channels, meaning they will be ready for digging out. It's very noisy and dusty, so anyone else who wants to work should be aware of this.

Digging out the trenches is chain gang style work, as Laurent and Rich found out!

I will drop off a load of rubble bags tomorrow, and all the excavated material from the side trenches will need to be bagged up ready to be cleared.

On Saturday morning we will need a good team to clear out the arch ready for a grab lorry which is arriving around 10 or 11 am. This will involve moving all the stuff that was left in the arch to the parking space opposite. And keeping anything we consider useful...

There is a pneumatic drill we can borrow, but its in Manor Park, anyone else have access to one?

Also need a 22mm pipe cutter....or a hacksaw. And a 22 to 15mm reducer to use temporarily.

HI Dermot,

I can bring you a hacksaw tomorrow or this evening but I will be back a bit after 7 only at the earliest this evening. Count me in for saturday morning but won't be doing a full day as I need to be back home by 1pm.

Tommel and I discovered that our mains water supply can't be isolated. There is what looks like a gate valve for quite high on wall above the arch, which doesn't turn. This needs to be swapped with a 22mm 1/4 turn full bore lever valve. This has to be done live, which is not that big a deal for someone comfortable with plumbing.

Dermot.

The social meetings are important and we seem to have a contingent on Thursday night that will be working. The evenings are difficult until we have the back wall up but we can do more clearing as planned.

I won't be going to the pub, now we have a space I personally see no need to go to the pub unless it is a drink after spending time working on the Arch. I have to work late on Thursday and will be unable to go to the Arch.

Does anyone want to go to the Arch on Wed?

No, no 0nes told me.
Is it still worth me just turning up to fit the power points under the consumer unit? Id rather do it during daylight for obvious reasons.
I cant come earlier on Wednesday as i have a hospital appt.

How about if i come along Thursday afternoon instead of Friday?
Early enough to install the sockets and drop off the site lighting as well.
How early can i get access as others are also shifting rubbish?

Hey,

Yes, it would be worth while on either day to fit the sockets, but who is going to be onsite with you?

It’s not really a good idea to be working on electrics with no one else present.

Ok. Ill give up on Friday as we dont need someone hanging around for the broadband install.

Ill not come along on Wednesday or Friday.
Ill join the work party on Thursday evening.
Ill drop of the  site work lights and the sockets and wire to hook it up so they can be hooked up by someone in daylight.

Cool.

If anyone is looking for other things that would be helpful, it would be finding suppliers willing to donate building materials, electrical materials, plumbing, etc..

Specifically, we're after the following bulk materials:

400x 190mm concrete blocks for the rear wall & floor footings
350x 100mm concrete blocks for the front wall
2,200kg of sand
700kg of cement

100x 2.4m 50x150mm C16 grade timber for joists
30x joist hangers to fit same
42x 2400x600mm OSB3 tongue & groove sheets

Also ~70m² 50mm rigid insulation for the walls and ~50m² 150mm loft insulation for the floor.

A succinct list of electrical and plumbing items is impossible. Lots of pipes, ducting, cable, switches, sockets etc.

If we use flat sheets and screw them down then we can lift single sheets in future where as TNG won't lift in singles?

Yes, just needs a bit more timber in the joist work to support the ends of boards. That's the way I've done it.

I chose T&G because it's stronger, easier to install, effectively airtight and is less prone to squeaking. However, Tommel's point is a good one. Am happy to go with the flow on this one.

We should include an opening access panel in each main span of flooring at any rate, just so the void can be inspected, cables routed, dead rats fished out etc.
