Senior QA Engineer
* Creation of Test Plans, Test Cases, Test Reports utilized by local, remote, and external testing teams. * Assist with coordination of testing efforts between multiple (remote and external) testing teams. . * Work closely with Customer Service by assisting them with customer escalations and the reproduction of issues in the lab. * Track & analyze test results and work closely with the developers to isolate and reproduce defects. * Interact closely with members of the cross-functional team for project success. * Interact with external and internal Partners for testing cross-branded products.
* Communicate status & issues in a timely fashion and manage escalations appropriately.
* 8+ years QA experience testing various products. * 4+ years QA experience testing mobile applications that relies on internet connectivity, specifically video streaming. * BS in Computer Science or equivalent. * Background in testing both software and hardware (home networking and audio/visual devices). * Developing test plan / test cases, generating test reports and bug tracking management. * Experience with testing data communications across various carrier networks. * Experience with testing streaming video on phones over the Internet. * Testing software products on multiple platforms (iOS, Android, Windows Phone 7, Windows OS, Macintosh OS, and UNIX/LINUX). * Experience gathering and analyzing software quality metrics throughout the software development life cycle. * Must have experience testing software apps on mobile devices. Preferred to have experience testing applications on iPad. * Experience working as a member of an Agile/XP team preferred. * Successfully worked as a member of teams with local, external, and off-shore members across multiple time zones that often communicate on a daily basis. * Experience with testing audio / video streaming.
* Experience with setting up and troubleshooting of home video/audio products. * Interact with external and internal Partners for testing cross-branded products. * Good understanding and hands on experience with Networking Protocols, Products, and troubleshooting using Packet Capturing Tools (TCP/IP, Home Routers / Port Forwarding / UPnP, Wireshark and/or tcpdump). * Exposure to the testing or the usage of mobile device applications that interact with set top boxes is a huge plus. * Must have good analytical, debugging, and troubleshooting skills. * Exposure to Test automation tools and Scripting Languages.
* Any unit testing utilizing Xcode, iPhone SDK, or Android SDK/E is a plus.
