Kalpavriksha - Social Entrepreneurship Event of IIM Indore - Seeking Partnership

Hi Friends,

Kalpavriksha is a Social B-Plan Contest organized as a flagship event
under Ahvan - the Annual
Management Festival of IIM (Indian Institute of Management) Indore.
The focus of this event is to provide a platform for budding
entrepreneurs to showcase self-sustainable B-plans with a strong
societal focus by sensitising its participants about the
responsibility and the potential difference they can make. The belief
that drives Kalpavriksha is that the amalgamation of business
principles, with efforts towards societal upliftment, can be a
sustained and powerful tool for change.

Kalpavriksha has grown consistently over the years since its inception
in 2006 and is one of the largest and most prestigious social business
plan competition across prominent B-schools.

We have been associated with reputed sponsors like Infosys, TATA
Group, Deloitte and
Cognizant and have had the opportunity to have an international tie-up
with Foster Business
School, Seattle for two years wherein the winner here secures a direct
entry into the semi-finals
of the Global Social Entrepreneurship Competition (GSEC) held there.
Team “Aahar: Meals for
Poor at Rs. 5”, finalist of Kalpavriksha 2008 which went on to win
GSEC ’09 is a testimony to our
endeavour to choose the best team.

This year, we plan to scale up the event by adding another dimensions
to the entire Kalpavriksha experience. We plan to open the doors of
the event to 0-2 year old social enterprises. The event is planned to
help in Oct-Nov 2011 (tentative). And we are looking for mentors,
knowledge partners and sponsors who can help the participants
implement their ideas and improve their enterprise's efficiency.
