Philip John Canning Howard of Corby Castle and Alice Constable-Maxwell had an only child, a daughter Ursula Mary Howard, who inherited Corby Castle, Cumberland and Foxcote House, Warwickshire, on the death of her father in 1934.

By that point she had been married to her first husband, Sir Henry Joseph Lawson, 3rd Baronet of Brough Hall, for nearly 35 years. Leo has the baronet in his database, with no ancestry for his parents, here:
http://www.genealogics.org/getperson.php?personID=I00116299&tree=LEO

The 3rd baronet has descents from both Edward III and St Thomas More in his paternal ancestry, which will be laid out in a later post. His wife Ursula Howard of Corby Castle also is a descendant of St Thomas More, through her mother Alice Constable-Maxwell, which I neglected to point out in my previous series of posts on Alice's ancestry.

Through his mother, the 3rd baronet descends from Henry VII. He is #23238 and his mother #23237 in Ruvigny's Tudor Roll volume (p. 252). She was Agnes Mary Matilda Molyneux-Seel, born 2 December 1851 in Brussels, Belgium, married 5 October 1870 at the Roman Catholic Church of Our Lady of the Assumption & St Gregory, Warwick Street, London, as his 2nd wife, Sir John Lawson, 2nd Baronet of Brough Hall. Agnes survived her husband nearly 35 years, dying 7 March 1945 at Newbiggin, Richmond, Yorkshire.

Agnes's descent from Henry VII is thru her father, but her maternal ancestry is just as fascinating, and, to my delighted surprise, Jewish. Agnes's mother was born Hannah Miriam Baruch Lousada on 28 May 1825 (registered in the Bevis Marks Synagogue in London), the daughter of a wealthy London merchant of an established Anglo-Jewish family, Isaac Baruch Losada (1783-1857), who converted with his family to Catholicism in 1831. His daughter's name then changed from Hannah Miriam to Anna Maria. There is a fascinating account, written by a descendant, online here:
http://www.barrow-lousada.org/Notes%20on%20the%20Lousada%20Dukes%20by%20a.htm

It was probably at that point that Isaac Baruch Lousada commissioned a genealogist in Spain to look into his ancestry, which he knew was from Portugal before they established tobacco plantations in Jamaica. An enterprising Spanish herald sold him a claim to the lapsed Spanish title Duque de Losada, which was created in 1741 for Jose Fernandez de Miranda y Saavedra (1706-83), who never married and died without offspring. Though not related to the Spanish Duke at all, Isaac Baruch Lousada petitioned Queen Isabella of Spain for the title in 1848. Though she never officially granted him it, he assumed the title Duke de Losada in England, and Victorian-era heralds and Burke's Landed Gentry, recognized him as such:
http://www.barrow-lousada.org/dukedom.htm

Through her maternal grandmother Judith d'Aguilar (1747-1821), Hannah Miriam Baruch Lousada aka Anna Maria Losada y Lousada, does descend from nobility. Judith's father was Diego (Moses) Lópes Pereira d'Aguilar (1699-1759), a Portugese financier of the Jewish faith who emigrated to London in 1722 after the War of the Spanish Succession, and founded the firm of Pereira and Lima, which imported gold from Portugal. He had a strong relationship to Empress Maria Theresa in Vienna, had him created a Baron of the Holy Roman Empire in 1726:

Since the only Edward III lines for the 3rd baronet's mother (#13 above) are through the Bedingfields and are well-covered in online databases, I won't lay them all out here. Anyone wishing to trace the complete ancestry of Agnes Mary Bedingfield (#11 above) can use Leo's database and the ancestry of Agnes's brother the 6th Bedingfield baronet, here:

I'll cover the many lines from Edward III for Sir John Lawson, 2nd Baronet of Brough Hall, father of the 3rd baronet, in subsequent posts.

Sir John Lawson, 2nd Baronet of Brough Hall, was the first of his paternal line to be born with the surname Lawson. His father was born William Wright, a younger son of a staunch Catholic family that had been seated at Kelvedon Hall in Essex for over 300 years.
http://www.historyhouse.co.uk/kelvedonhatch/houses.html

William's father John Wright married in 1789 Elizabeth, daughter of Sir John Lawson, the fifth Baronet of Brough Hall, Yorkshire. This marriage of an East Anglian Catholic gentleman to a Northern Catholic lass was probably brokered by the Silvertop family, for the groom's mother was a Silvertop, and the bride's aunt Catherine Lawson had married a Silvertop seventeen years previous. In 1789, Elizabeth Lawson, a younger daughter, had male Lawson uncles and cousins to follow her father in the baronetcy, and was by no means an heiress. She was simply making a good match. When she died in 1812, having survived her father a year, her childless 62-year-old uncle Henry was the sixth Lawson baronet, and her male Lawson cousins had produced only one surviving daughter.

Sir Henry, the sixth Lawson baronet had to look to the family's future without a male-line heir. He chose his 29-year-old grand-nephew William, the second son of his late niece Elizabeth Lawson Wright, to be his legal heir, and in 1825 arranged for him to marry his 24-year-old cousin Clarinda Catharine Lawson, the only surviving child of a York physician, who in turn was the only Lawson male in the younger lines that produced issue. William Wright would assume the surname and arms of Lawson and inherit Brough Hall and the rest of the family estates after his great-uncle's death, which occurred in 1834. Seven years later in 1841, the Crown officially recognized this succession arrangement by creating William Lawson formerly Wright, a baronet in his own right. The Lawson baronetcy at Brough Hall would continue in both name and title.

Sir John Lawson, the second baronet of the new creation, has 88 separate lines of descent from Edward III that are laid out below. His total number of Edward III descents will be higher, as there is a cousin marriage in the mix. As usual, links to the most recent individuals in Leo's database for each line are given.

Hi Brad

In the above Elizabeth b. 1606 is shown as grandmother of William b. 1630. Think there is a typo in there.

Hi Brad

Couple more typos. J15 says Robert Scarisbrick m. Anne Messenger. FF14 calls him Richard.

Couple places Bidderstone is typed for Bildestone.

Great work as always.

Constantia Smith, second wife of #A12 above (John Wright of Kelvedon Hall), died 17 July 1758, and descends from Edward I, not Edward III - so there is no line for her further below in the post. Her parents were Lewis Smith of Wootton Wawen and Hon. Elizabeth Monson, daughter of the 1st Viscount Monson. I was confusing the Monkton family (who descend from Edward III) with the Monson family.

Thank you to Olivier Guionneau for reminding me that there is a much more recent king than Henry VII in the ancestry of Agnes Molyneux-Seel, wife of the 2nd baronet above. Namely the Merry Monarch himself, Charles II. Here is the descent.

Charles II = Barbara Villiers, Duchess of Cleveland, and had
1) Lady Charlotte FitzRoy, illegit. (1664-1718) m. Edward Lee, 1st Earl of Lichfield (1663-1716, descended from Edward III), and had
2) George Henry Lee, 2nd Earl of Lichfield (1690-1743) m. Frances Hales (c.1698-1769, descended from Edward III), and had
3) Lady Charlotte Lee (1720-1794) m. Henry, 11th Viscount Dillon of Costello-Gallen (1705-1787, descended from Edward III), and had
4) Hon. Frances Dillon (1747-1825) m. Sir William Jerningham, 6th Baronet of Costessey (1736-1809, descended from Edward III), and had
5) Hon. Charlotte Georgiana Jerningham (1769-1854) m. Sir Richard Bedingfield, 5th Baronet of Oxburgh (1767-1829, descended from Henry VII), and had
6) Agnes Mary Bedingfield (1798-1870) m. Col. Thomas Unsworth [later Molyneux-Seel] of Huyton Hey (1792-1881, descended from Edward I), and had
7) Edmund Richard Thomas Molyneux-Seel of Huyton Hey (1824-1909) m. 1) Anna Maria Losada y Lousada [born Hannah Miriam Baruch Lousada] (1825-1898), and had
8) Agnes Mary Matilda Molyneux-Seel (1851-1945) m. Sir John Lawson, 2nd Baronet of Brough Hall (1829-1910, descended from Edward III), and had
9) Sir Henry Joseph Lawson, 3rd Baronet of Brough Hall (1877-1947) m. Ursula Mary Howard, heiress of Corby Castle

Thank you for catching this, Doug. Turns out I really bungled here - I misread the footnote on p. 354 of 'Memorials of the Abbey of St Mary of Fountains' (1878), and thought it meant that Henry Messenger of Newsham and Elizabeth Meynell were the parents of John Messenger who purchased Fountains Abbey:
https://archive.org/stream/memorialsofabbey00rainuoft#page/354/mode/2up

It turns out that #J13 above, John Messenger (b. 1590), was the brother, not the son, of Henry Messenger who married Elizabeth Meynell. "In the Herald's college, London, the same arms are entered as borne by John Messenger of Newisham, county of York, who died in 1616, aged 70 years , and was buried at Kirk Ravensworth. Two of his sons, Henry and Anthony, were killed in the service of King Charles I, and another, John Messenger, Esq., born in 1590, was the owner of the Fountain Abbey estate, near Ripon, in 1627":

So the Edward III descent & marriage for Elizabeth Meynell (b. 1606) - #J12 above - is accurate. But #J13 above - John Messenger (b. 1590) - was not her son. Anne Messenger - #J15 above- wife of Robert Scarisbrick of Scarisbrick Hall, does not have any descent from Edward III (or Edward I).

His name was 'Robert' - not 'Richard' - Scarisbrick. Sorry for the confusion.

It was Biddlestone Hall:

The Hall was demolished in 1957. The Selbys built their Catholic Chapel on the site of the medieval Biddlestone Tower, and used some of the stonework from the old Tower:

Just a quick follow-up post on this Jewish-to-Catholic theme. Agnes's daughter-in-law Ursula Mary Howard, Dame Lawson, heiress of Corby Castle, married secondly, a year-and-a-half after her first husband's death, Lt-Col Hugh Levin. Leo has him in his database, with no parents, here:
http://www.genealogics.org/getperson.php?personID=I00116300&tree=LEO

Lt-Col Hugh Levin was born 16 January 1886 at 9 Wenlock Terrace, York, Yorkshire, baptized 20 March 1886 at Christ Church Lancaster Gate, Bayswater, London. Two months after Hugh's birth, his father died, so Hugh had no living memory of him. Hugh died 1972 at Corby Castle, Cumberland.

Hugh's father was Maj. Lionel Henry Mocatta Levin of Hyde Park, born 10 December 1849 in Wellington, New Zealand, baptized into the Christian faith at age 11 on 19 October 1862 at St Mary-at-Hill, Billingsgate, London, and died 31 March 1886 at 44 Cleveland Square, Hyde Park, London. There is a photograph of Lionel Levin, here:

Though Lt-Col. Hugh Levin (1886-1972) has no descents from Edward III (or Edward I), his ancestry is interesting, as, like Ursula Howard's first husband, Sir Henry Lawson, 3rd baronet, there is Jewish blood coursing thru Hugh Levin's veins.

His paternal grandfather, the merchant Nathaniel William Levin (1818-1903) was a founder of the first Jewish synagogue & cemetery in Welington, and was the first Jew to be appointed to the New Zealand Legislative Council. There is an entry for Nathaniel Levin in the Dictionary of New Zealand Biography, here:
http://www.teara.govt.nz/en/biographies/1l7/levin-nathaniel-william

Hugh Levin's mother, Beatrice Josephine Curgenven, was not Jewish, but rather the daughter of a London surgeon of Cornish origin, John Brendan Curgenven, whose family pedigree was compiled in 1876 by Sir John Maclean in his 'The Parochial and Family History of the Deanery of Trigg Minor, Volume 2, pp. 264-265:
