The Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Report and Public Consultation
Procedure for the Rosia Montana open cast cyanide leach gold mine
proposed by Gabriel Resources

On the 15th of May 2006, S.C. Rosia Montana Gold Corporation S.A
submitted the Environment Impact Assessment Study Report for the ?Rosia
Montana Project, Alba County? to the Ministry for the Environment and
Water Management. The whole study which consists of three parts
(1.Initial Conditions 2. EIA Report and 3. Management Plan) can be
downloaded in English and Romanian at http://www.inmh.ro/index.php?id=342

On 5th June 2006 the Ministry for the Environment and Water Management
announced the inception of the Public Consultation Procedure (read the
?Public Announcement? below). It will last until the 25th August 2006,
which by when all motivated observations made by the concerned public as
well as interested and consulted parties have to have reached the
ministry for the environment and Water Management. All observations
should be send via registered mail with confirmation of receipt. The
postal address for the Ministry for the Environment and Water Management

Due to the mining proposal?s potential transboundary impact, Public
Consultations are also scheduled to take place in Hungary. More

PUBLIC ANNOUCEMENT

On the 15th of May 2006, S.C. Rosia Montana Gold Corporation S.A
submitted the Environment Impact Assessment Study Report for the ?Rosia
Montana Project, Alba County? to the Ministry of Environment and Water
Management.

According to art. 39 of Order of Minister of Environment and Water
Management no. 860/2002 for approving the environment impact assessment
procedure and issuing the environmental agreement, as amended, the
Ministry of Environment and Water Management announces the following:
