I hate to use this NG as a dictionary, but how do you say "sorry" in
Tagalog?

(tagalog-english dictionary ordered and on the way) :^)

No problem. Asking is one of the best ways to learn. The translation may
differ with how you use the word.

I'm sorry about your situation. = Nalulungkot ako sa iyong kalagayan.

I'm sorry if I hurt you. = Patawarin mo ako kung nasaktan kita.

It is easier to translate if you give us the actual sentence you wish to
use. Many words have no direct translation.

Thanks BBQ and Jojo for the quick replies. But since you mentioned it, I
guess I was looking more for I'm sorry if I offended you. I guess I could
use your second answer, but what would I replace nasaktan with?

It should work using "nasaktan" meaning "hurt" feelings. Or you could simply
say something like "Patawarin mo ako sa aking sinabi/ginawa" which means
"Forgive me for what I said/did."

Hope this helps.

Hmmmm....if picking on someone's English spelling is not proper netiquette,
would it follow that picking on someone's Tagalog spelling is also improper?
Nagtataka lang.
