Points on a Timeline

Hi.  I'm trying to use Exhibit 3, but I need to create multiple points on a timeline.  I see how to create points and timelines for specific items but not points on a timeline.  

I tried to research this in the SMILIE Widgets Google Group and it looks like the issue has been raised before: 

• Multiple dates per event on October 6, 2008.  The recommendation was to modify the SMILIE Widgets open source.  
• points, lines, and polygons in exhibit on March 6, 2009 as a feature that would be good to have, but that deals with maps and not timelines.  
• Exhibit Browser Compatability and Timeline Icons of April 17, 2008, this answer was given:

Timeline doesn't display any icon when isDuration is true. It's just 

the way it's implemented right now. You'd need some Javascript coding if 

you want to change its default behavior. 

Can multiple points be plotted on a timeline with Exhibit 3.0, and if so, how?  If not, is something that you would consider adding in the near future?

For those who may be reading this and wanting an answer, I wrote to Ryan Lee concerning this issue and he did reply as follows:

To confirm your research on the list: no, there isn't a built-in
mechanism available to do what you're looking for.

 

As Timeline stands independently from Exhibit, we have not planned to
update it during the Exhibit 3 project, which wraps up with the calendar

year.
