Timeline and Oracle CRM OnDemand (Siebel)

I am trying to create a Timeline that is generated as a result of a report run from our SaaS CRM OnDemand platform.  The reporting tools allow me to do some (very little) scripting using a report type that they call Narrative.  One big issue is that I do not have access to the HEAD element.  I can't set up the OnLoad event either.  The place where I can add code is in the body.

I started out with the examples of the original simile-timeline but haven't been able to get them to work.  I have been going through the group here as well without luck.  

I was wondering if anyone has had any experience implementing a timeline under similar restraints and if you did do you have any advice?
