We're currently working out how to provide SS documentation to our
clients. We'd like to put the userhelp.silverstripe.org content into a
custom-built SS website that will also contain documentation specific
to the client's system. Is it possible to get a database dump or some
other import format for the userhelp.silverstripe.org content?
We'd also like to have a 20-30 page PDF document that we can provide
as a soft and hardcopy document at handover. I've noticed that this
existed for 2.3, but I can't find it for 2.4. Also I'm not clear on
the best way to produce a PDF from content on a website.
It would be ideal if this process could be automated to some extent so
that new versions can be created when the content on
userhelp.silverstripe.org is updated.
I think that having a really strong user guide will help to advance SS
into the corporate market. Any help with this would be greatly
appreciated.
Thanks,
Simon

I would also like to pick this up. I've been trying to contact Martijn
to coordinate with him, but haven't been able to get a response. I
need to get access to the content and assets for the userhelp website.
We'll be using this to develop a PDF and we're happy to share this
with the community. Specifically we'll be developing a 20-30 page PDF
that covers only the basics of content editing, and will serve as a
handover document that introduces a user to the CMS.
This is now quite urgent so if someone can contact me with a database
dump and an archive of the assets that'd be great. The source code to
the current userguide site would also be very useful.

Thanks for sending that over Will, but that's not actually what we're
after. What you sent is the content from the old 2.3 version of
userhelp (see http://2.3.userhelp.silverstripe.org/), and we need to
get the content from http://userhelp.silverstripe.org/. Also the
assets that were provided aren't the assets that are referred to in
the content.
- Set up a SS site that has the content, theme and assets from the
current http://userhelp.silverstripe.org/
- Put this up on github so that developers can use customise this
content for their clients
I sent this to you already?
