The 24th World Computer Shogi Championship Applicant List

It is our pleasure to announce that the 24th World Computer
Shogi Championship will be held in Japan in May 2014.
There will be forty-five (45) participants at the tournament.

There are the first and second preliminary contests
and then a final round.
The top 16 entered programs are seeded for the second
preliminary contest. The other entered programs enter
the first preliminary contest.

The first preliminary contest will be held on the first
day. There will be 7 Swiss-style games. The top 8
programs will join the second preliminary contest.
If the number of programs is odd, the operating committee
will invite an arbitrary program. The invited program
will not proceed to the second day.

The second preliminary contest will be held on the second
day. There will be 9 Swiss-style games. The top 8
programs will proceed to the final. If the number of
programs is odd, the operating committee will invite
an arbitrary program. The invited program will not
proceed to the third day.

The final will be held on the third day. There will be
7 rounds, round robin of 8 programs with each program
playing each other once.
