to SCORAI

After 11 years Maurie Cohen stepped down from the SCORAI Board. The SCORAI Executive Board wants to thank Maurie for his many years of service to the SCORAI community, his work on the Board, and to the broader field of Sustainable Consumption. Maurie co-founded SCORAI in 2008 with Philip Vergragt, Halina Brown and John Stutz (who retired in 2017).  He led many projects that helped build this community, including:

•             Creating the SCORAI listserv and managing the Newsletter (till 2018);

•             Organizing and hosting the workshop in 2011 on Sociotechnical Transitions, Social Practices, and New Economics in the context of sustainable consumption; which subsequently led to a book, co-edited by Maurie, Philip, and Halina.

•             Co-organizing the 2012 workshop on Research-Practice Interface in Fostering Sustainable Consumption, in Vancouver, Canada; and the 2014 workshop with Urban Sustainability Directors Network, in Eugene, Oregon.

•             Co-organizing, together with Lucia Reisch at Copenhagen Business School, the 3rd  SCORAI international conference 2018 in Copenhagen.

•             Co-editing (till 2019) the Routledge-SCORAI book series “Studies in Sustainable Consumption”.

Maurie left an indelible mark on SCORAI. We wish him well in his many future endeavors.

Halina, Deric, Daniel, Manisha, and Philip
