Last night was absolutely fantastic for a late summer evening ride. The temperature was moderate and the sun was bright. Bill B., Gary and I were at Todd's ready to go at 5:30, and only were slow enough putting on the brain buckets to allow Sandy and Fred to arrive slightly late to join the party and not miss us. Todd exercised leader's choice and suggested the Longhorn in Bow as a destination. With no dissent, we charged up Yew and down the left, right, left, right, etc. road, where Fred had pointed out his dream home , to Fairhaven and the gas stop where the pay at the pump was mal functioning. After a slight delay we proceded down Chuckanut Drive where the sun shining through the trees in the early evening is stunning. We arrived at the Longhorn for conversation over brews and food. We left with sufficient daylight for the ride home with 5 going north back up Chuckanut
to pick up any parts that fell off, and me heading south, with setting sun over our respective shoulders. Here's hoping that wasn't our last ride of the season. |
