Does anyone understand if, how and why this works?

It seems magic that the neural network can acquire the fine knowledge
necessary to determine the trajectories of a system that is so sensitive
to initial conditions.

Perhaps it only works for certain classes of solutions? Like
the horseshoe solutions or the orbits around Lagrange points?

Those are cases that a human physicist also could predct with
relatively little effort..
