Subject: Post-doctoral position at ESRF - ID29

Dear colleagues

I'd appreciate if you could advertise the position below among your contacts

Many thanks

Daniele

As part of the Extremely Brilliant Source facility upgrade (https://www.esrf.eu/about/upgrade), the ESRF is constructing a new beamline for serial and time-resolved macromolecular crystallography (TR-)SSX experiments at room temperature. The new ID29 beamline will deliver an unprecedented flux density, allowing the recording of diffraction data from micron-sized samples in a few microseconds, and will be equipped with a next generation diffractometer and a Jungfrau detector. Beamline operations will be supported by a dedicated sample preparation laboratory where the most suitable crystal delivery systems such as injectors, fixed targets and microfluidic devices will be prepared and characterised prior to experiments.

The postdoctoral position available will focus on developing novel sample environments, delivery systems and data collection methods for (TR-SSX). These will, initially, be tested and commissioned at other ESRF MX microfocus beamlines. The selected candidate will also take part in the commissioning of the new ID29, performing state-of-the art experiments at the new end-station.

As for all post-doctoral researchers in the Structural Biology Group, the successful candidate will participate in in-house research programmes, will contribute to the operation of the beamline and will provide support to external users as local contact. He/She will also have the opportunity to develop his/her own research programme.

Further information may be obtained from Daniele de Sanctis (tel.: +33 (0)4 76 88 28 69, email: daniele.d...@esrf.fr).

Applications must be submitted at https://esrf.gestmax.eu/apply/1500/1/postdoc-id29
